Photographer and Author

Christophe Ollivier, a visual artist living and working in Paris, has been developing a vast project dedicated to the capital since 2004, exploring how images can envelop the viewer. To this end, he has created a unique style: line photography, a black-and-white digital photograph taken exclusively at the moment of capture, without any retouching, playing on inverted perspectives that invite the viewer to enter the image.

He also works with color through his Artscratch technique, which consists of “scratching” Polaroid films during their emulsion. By sculpting the chemistry of the image as it appears, with a quick, instinctive, blind gesture, he creates works in which matter, light, and chance interact intimately.

Christophe Ollivier is the author of Le Promeneur de Paris, published by Éditions du Pacifique.
