A writer of Czech origin, Jaroslav Kalfar emigrated to the United States as a teenager, where he taught himself English. A graduate of New York University with an MFA, he lives in Brooklyn. His first novel, An Astronaut in Bohemia, has been translated into several languages and adapted for film.
Tom Mairs is a watercolor artist and illustrator specializing in architecture and topography. Trained in Canada and Germany, he also works in theater and collaborates on numerous projects in Europe.
