Graham Byfield.

Graham Byfield is an English watercolorist whose work highlights the architecture and atmosphere of the world’s most beautiful cities. After spending the early part of his career in the Far East as a graphic designer and art director, he developed a passion for local cultures and diverse architectural styles, particularly in Singapore, where his works, combining delicate pencil strokes with watercolor highlights, have been widely recognized for their unique character.

His precise and evocative urban landscapes sensitively capture the beauty of buildings and streets. His lithographed, signed, and numbered prints are part of discerning international collections. Now based in Menorca, where he has his own gallery, Graham Byfield devotes himself entirely to his work as an artist.

 

He is the author of Amsterdam Sketchbook and Barcelona Sketchbook, published by Éditions du Pacifique.

Marcus Binney.

British architectural historian and writer Marcus Binney is a leading figure in heritage preservation in the United Kingdom. A graduate of Cambridge, he rose to prominence in the 1970s as co-curator of the seminal exhibition The Destruction of the Country House at the Victoria & Albert Museum, which helped raise national awareness of the need to preserve historic homes.

He is a founding member of Save Britain’s Heritage, which he has chaired for many years, as well as several institutions dedicated to architectural conservation, including the Railway Heritage Trust and the Twentieth Century Society. Architectural correspondent for The Times since 1991, he has also edited the architecture section of Country Life.

A prolific author, Marcus Binney has published numerous books on British country houses, the conversion of industrial buildings, and architectural history. He also hosted the documentary series Mansions: The Great Houses of Europe, which aired in the United States between 1993 and 1997.

For his outstanding commitment to heritage, he was appointed Officer and then Commander of the Order of the British Empire (OBE in 1983, CBE in 2006).
