A Sicilian odyssey immortalized in a book

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean. A land rich in history, it has been shaped by Carthaginian, Greek, Roman, Norman, Byzantine, and Italian civilizations. This cultural diversity has left its mark in every corner of the island, from Roman villas to Baroque palaces, from Norman castles to Muslim remnants.

To capture all this architectural richness, Fabrice Moireau traveled across Sicily for weeks. He immersed himself in the island’s multifaceted landscapes to infuse its natural beauty into his watercolors.

The marriage of watercolor and literature in an album

As a master of watercolors, Fabrice Moireau shares the diversity of Sicily with astounding precision. You will take pleasure in discovering or rediscovering its mountains, volcanic fields, golden beaches, and vineyards. To accompany these idyllic coastlines and mountain landscapes, Édith de la Héronnière charms us with her pen. Her elegant words transport us deep into the heart of the island, revealing its secrets and the richness of its soul.

Discover Sicily in a new light through the beautiful travel book “Sicily Sketchbook.”

Édith de la Héronnière.

After studying philosophy at the Sorbonne, where she was a student of Jankélévitch, Édith de la Héronnière pursued various careers related to books and the press before becoming the secretary of Maurice Clavel.

At different times, she has worked as an essayist, journalist, and author of narratives and biographies. Édith de la Héronnière has contributed to numerous literary journals such as the Revue des deux mondes, La Nouvelle Revue Française, or Traverses, while also publishing novels since the 1990s. By adding her pen to the brushes of Fabrice Moireau, Édith de la Héronnière combines two of her passions in this new work: travel and pictorial art.
