The expertise and vision of enthusiasts

Former artistic director of Vogue magazine, Daniel Dufour has sketched hundreds of treehouses and selected the most iconic ones for this book. The work is enriched by Sylvain Tesson, writer and traveler, whose writing resonates with the connection between nature and imagination, and by Alain Laurens, builder of nearly 500 treehouses around the world, who shares his golden rules for building without ever harming the trees.

An invitation to dream and create

Treehouses is not just a book of watercolors: it is an ode to creativity and nature, an aerial journey where each page opens the door to new ideas and wonder.

Alain Laurens.

Alain Laurens, founder of La Cabane perchée, has built nearly 500 treehouses in a dozen countries, following one absolute rule: never damage the tree. Inspired by a childhood dream, he now creates treehouse habitats that combine art, respect for life, and imagination.

Daniel Dufour.

Painter, illustrator, and former artistic director of Vogue France, Daniel Dufour (1940–2017) was co-founder of La Cabane Perchée and author of travel journals and books.
