Alain Laurens.

Author

Alain Laurens, former president of a major advertising agency, decided to bring to life a childhood dream inspired by Italo Calvino’s The Baron in the Trees: living in trees. In 2000, he founded La Cabane Perchée, accompanied by watercolorist Daniel Dufour, who designs and draws the cabins, and carpenter Ghislain André, who builds them with a team of joiners and carpenters. Since then, he has built nearly 500 treehouses in a dozen countries, including France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Russia, Denmark, and the United States, following one fundamental rule: never harm the tree, no nails, no cut branches.

He is the author of Treehouses, published by Éditions du Pacifique.
