Daughter of a Sicilian father and a Corsican mother, Belinda Cannone is a novelist and essayist. After teaching comparative literature at the University of Caen and then at the University of Corsica-Pascal-Paoli, she published her first novel in 1990 and, since 2000, has alternated between fiction and essays in a bibliography of some thirty works. Initially focused on violence in the world and desire, her recent works explore wonder and human relationships, which she considers fundamental. In addition to her work as a writer, she regularly publishes articles and stories in the press and specialized journals.
