Daniel Vigne is a film and television writer-director. In 1982, he made his mark with Le Retour de Martin Guerre, a film that became a benchmark and won three Césars. He followed this with Une femme ou deux and Comédie d’été, then embarked on projects combining creativity and social issues, such as 3000 scénarios pour un virus in 1994.
In 2000, he directed the television film Fatou la Malienne, a critical and commercial success that won a 7 d’Or and a Fipa d’Or, highlighting the tensions between tradition and individual freedom. He then explored other horizons with the documentary series Les Aventuriers des mers du Sud, dedicated to Robert Louis Stevenson.
In 2007, he returned to cinema with Jean de La Fontaine, le défi, his first feature film dedicated to the little-known life of the fabulist. Throughout his career, Daniel Vigne has been committed to revealing human stories, exploring social environments and intimate struggles for recognition and emancipation.
He is the author of La Maison des hommes, published by Éditions du Pacifique.
