After studying history, Hinke Wiggers joined the Amsterdam Historical Museum in 1975, where she contributed to numerous research projects and several publications devoted to the heritage of the Dutch capital. In 1990, she specialized in Dutch art history and helped create the multimedia presentation of the collections of the Rijksmuseum, one of the country’s most important cultural institutions. She is also one of the co-authors of the monumental History of Amsterdam, published in five volumes between 2004 and 2007, an essential reference on the urban and cultural development of the city.
She is the author of Amsterdam Sketchbook, published by Éditions du Pacifique.
