Born in 1946 in France, Matthieu Ricard is an essayist, photographer, and Tibetan Buddhist monk.

For fifty years, he has been photographing spiritual masters, monastic life, art, and the landscapes of Bhutan, Tibet, and Nepal, offering a unique vision of these countries, caught between modernity and tradition.

Through his humanitarian engagement and spiritual journey, Matthieu Ricard transports us with the simple beauty of what he has witnessed over so many years.

His work is a precious gift, allowing us to discover the intimacy and essence of the places he has captured.

He has worked with several renowned photography magazines, authored numerous books, and is also the French interpreter for the Dalai Lama.

 

He is the author of Bhutan: Portrait of a Kingdom, published by Éditions du Pacifique.
