Born in Istanbul in 1952, Orhan Pamuk grew up in a family of Francophiles. After studying architecture and journalism, he dedicated himself to writing. In 2006, his work was honored with the Nobel Prize in Literature. Orhan Pamuk’s novels depict the conflicts of a society torn between East and West.
