Born on May 3, 1944, in Choiseul (Haute-Marne), Yves Simon is a French singer-songwriter and writer. From childhood, he was introduced to music with an accordion given to him by his parents. After studying literature in Nancy and Paris, he traveled throughout Europe and the United States. He published his first novel at the age of 24 and achieved success with Les Jours en couleur and L’homme arc-en-ciel.

At the same time, he developed a musical career, with albums such as Au Pays des merveilles de Juliet and Rumeurs, and collaborated with artists such as Françoise Hardy. He has received several literary awards: the Prix des Libraires (1988), the Prix Médicis (1991) for La Dérive des sentiments, as well as the Prix des Poètes Sacem (1995) and the Grand Prix de l’Académie française (1997).
