Born in 1970, Gonçalo M. Tavares is a writer and epistemology professor in Lisbon. Since the early 2000s, he has published numerous works, including novels, essays, poetry, plays, short stories, and other unclassifiable writings. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Best Foreign Book Award in France for « Learning to Pray in the Age of Technology, » the Saramago Prize, and the Ler/BCP Prize in Portugal, and the Portugal Telecom Literature Prize in Brazil for « Jerusalem. » Gonçalo M. Tavares is regarded as one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Portuguese literature.
